When I hear staycation, I’m instantly drawn to the idea of instant relaxation, sleeping in, room service, and no obligations. My husband and I took a few staycations before our little one was born and I honestly think we took them for granted. We would stay in a location that was in the middle of everything and still try to do everything. Instead of the sleeping-in and room service, we would do a full day of activities in the area, dinner out, etc. Now as a new mom, when I travel for work, I count down the hours I’m able to fall into the plush hotel bed and do nothing. I always hear people talk about staycation as a couple or with your girls but what about a staycation alone to take care of yourself. A simple stay where you’re able to stay in a beautiful location, grab dinner via room service or at a place steps away from the hotel, get a little shopping in if you’d like, not have to drive anywhere, and walk right back into your room relax in your robe and do nothing. This sounds like a mom’s dream if you’re able to take the time to unplug and I found this perfect itinerary for a staycation right at The Hotel at Avalon in Alpharetta, Georgia.

Shop: Lou & Grey
Lou & Grey is one of my first stops every time I’m in Avalon. I love their casual and chic selections for everyday wear and casual business attire. As a mom, shopping with a toddler can usually end in the shopping trip being cut short. So, having the time to browse on my own time is always a win. Avalon has a strip of stores for everyone ranging from home decor to athletic wear. Here’s the directory for all retail at Avalon.
Do: Take A Class At Flywheel
After a great meal, shopping, and relaxing, finish your staycation with a quick class at Flywheel. There’s nothing like releasing the toxins and negative energy than a quick ride at Flywheel. If you’d rather skip the workout, Avalon features events throughout the area all year long. Check out their event calendar to see what’s going on when you plan your stay.
