I’ve shared two full days in Kansas City and now on to our final day. Kansas City is indeed a family place that everyone should add to their list of destinations of places to visit for the entire family. Being in Atlanta, our flight time was a little less than two hours which is perfect when you’re not the one driving, especially with a busy one-year-old. You’ve read day one and day two of our Kansas City travel guide which included some good eats and fun attractions, so even on our last day in Kansas City I still have a few more things to share with you. Kansas City Travel Guide
This was such a fun day! We started with breakfast and then a trip to the Kansas City Zoo. KJ is learning about different animals now so showing him those animals in person was amazing. Kansas City Zoo was truly unlike any zoo I’ve ever been to in my zoo trips. With 202 acres and over 1,700 animals, this zoo was not only large but an experience that we enjoyed as adults. I usually think when you’ve seen one zoo, you’ve seen them all but that’s not the case with Kansas City Zoo. There were areas of the zoo where you can interact with certain animals. My favorite part was walking through “Australia” and seeing the Kangaroo roam free. This was absolutely crazy to me that a kangaroo was literally a foot away from us, but they didn’t bother anyone.
Following our trip to the zoo, we went to explore The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art. I know you’re thinking a museum with a one-year-old? Yes, and although he didn’t know what he was looking at, he was admiring the various works of art.
Finally, after three busy days, we went back to our hotel and headed to the airport to return home. Three full days in a new place and a full agenda to explore the entire city almost top to bottom was a great experience for us as a family. I say almost explore the whole city because we did our research and when driving around we saw so many other things that guarantee another trip is needed. Out of our entire weekend, it’s so hard to choose what was our favorite thing. Kansas City is a great place to visit with your family or significant other. Would we visit again? Absolutely! As our son grows, I can only imagine how he’ll react to everything we did this first time around. If you missed day one and day two of my Kansas City travel guide, read more here and here.
