It’s important to know how to manage the home in an efficient manner and take some stress out of life, find some me-time, and create more quality time with your family. Here are a few home management tips for busy moms to help you do all of that and more.
Home Management Tips To Help Busy Moms
This is one that I’ve personally had an issue with for a while. It’s so hard to let go of things I’ve been doing and the way I’ve been doing them. I know like many it’s hard to allow someone else to take over things that we’re used to handling our way but sometimes when you let go that person may have a better way of doing it and it’s one less thing you don’t have to worry about. Two things I delegate that have given me so much time back in my day to day are hiring a housekeeper and utilizing grocery delivery services. I still do the regular day-to-day pickups like our kid’s toys, dishes, etc. But big cleaning tasks like bathrooms, floors, etc, that’s where our housekeeper picks up what I’ve assigned.
I know many think having things like this are a luxury and extra cost but it’s honestly all about budgeting and seeing where you can fit things in like this so you can get your time back. I found that I was going to the grocery store too much in one week. So I sat down and came up with a plan to handle grocery shopping, enter grocery delivery/pickup services. I make time once a week for meal planning on Saturday or Sunday to see what we need for one to two weeks worth of meals and plan out our dinner plans. And then I create my grocery list from there and go online or the app and select everything from my list, add to cart, checkout, and scheduled whether I want delivery or pickup all in a matter of 30 minutes or less.
This tip is easy and straight to the point. Just say no. As busy moms, we don’t have time for random things popping up throwing us off our schedule throughout the day. It’s so important to really stay focused so you’re not falling behind on what matters for the day.
Use A Planning System & Create A Routine.
I live by my Google calendar. If it’s not on the calendar it’s not happening. It’s important to manage your time and use your time wisely. I’ve found waking up earlier than everyone in my house helps me really set the tone for my day and I’m able to enjoy a little quiet time before the little ones are up and going full speed. I use this time to write out what my day looks like, any urgent task I need to complete, and I also love to use this time to read my devotion and journal. I’ve found starting my day like this helps me stay focused and positive throughout my day.
Use these 3 tips throughout your day and I can guarantee you see a difference in managing not only your home but yourself as well. It can be so easy to get overwhelmed trying to manage an entire household on top of whatever else you may have going on for yourself. It’s also important to remember to take care of yourself. The task, the laundry, all of that will be there, don’t beat yourself up about it if you fall off one day. It’s important to make sure you’re healthy and rested before it all.
