Nashville, Tennesse also known as Music City, is somewhere I’ve wanted to visit for a while now. I was having dinner with friends, and we decided to do a girls trip but somewhere close, and Nashville came up as the go-to spot. This was perfect because again, it’s somewhere I’ve wanted to visit for a while, and it’s one of the places Marcus, and I was considering to live after leaving Dallas, Texas. The city did not disappoint, and I could see myself living there.
If you’re visiting Nashville soon or want to take a girls trip, I’ve curated a guide of everything you need to add to your agenda.
Nashville Travel Guide: How To Get There
With a 3 hour travel time from Atlanta to Nashville, we decided to drive. I partnered with Chevrolet and received the 2019 Chevrolet Equinox to get us to and from Nashville. This is one of their smaller style SUVs, but it was perfect for us and all of our luggage. The day we left, it was raining slightly, and if you live in Atlanta, you know rain or snow or any day the drivers here can be pretty intense. The Chevy Equinox was exactly what was needed navigating the interstate and back roads to Nashville with the lane change alert letting me know when someone is near or in my blind spot before getting over and if they are getting too close. Equinox offers advanced safety technologies to help you detect and prevent potential hazards on the road, so you can feel confident every time you get behind the wheel. Features such as the low speed forward automatic braking, forward collision alert, lane keep assist with lane departure warning and HD Surround Vision just to name a few.
Along with feeling safe during the road trip, we also didn’t have to stop for gas which is always a win. One tank took us all the way to Nashville and we were able to drive around the city with the same gas. We didn’t have to fill up until it was time to hit the road back to Atlanta on Sunday. So with safety and gas being covered, of course, you need entertainment on a road trip and this SUV is equipped with Apple Car Play which allowed me to sync my phone and play all of my favorite songs while driving. I also never had to touch my phone because everything showed up right on the display such as the map and phone log to make calls. When traveling through the mountains, the phone signals would go in and out but there was 4g LTE Wifi which made being connected seamless. The Chevy Equinox is definitely a vehicle you need for any road trip and I would take it out again without a doubt.
Nashville Travel Guide: Where To Stay
Our home away from home for the weekend getaway was at a Stay Alfred property in downtown Nashville. It was in the perfect location for everything we planned to do that weekend. Two blocks from Broadway and right across the street from Ryman Auditorium, Stay Alfred at 505 is the perfect place to stay in downtown Nashville. This place offered luxury-living in a sleek, modern apartment with all the necessities you miss when you stay in a typical hotel. We stayed in the two bedrooms two bathroom space and it was beautiful with floor to ceiling windows showing fantastic views of the city. On our first night in Nashville, we decided to explore and wanted to go out to a few bars because what girls trip is complete without a little dancing. We quickly discovered we were about one block away from Broadway which is like a mini Las Vegas strip. With the rest of our itinerary, a drive or a walk, we were no more than ten minutes from everything staying at this Stay Aflred 505 location. If you’re wanting to really experience Nashville and be in the center of everything, this is a great place to add to your list.
Nashville is filled with things to do. Our agenda was full of girls trip style fun activities but during my research for this trip, there are a ton of things for literally everyone. You can travel with your family or your significant other and have fun. You can have three different experiences in Nashville depending on who you’re traveling with and the agenda of the trip. Here are a few things we got to experience while visiting Nashville.
The Candle Bar: Honestly, this was the highlight of the trip. You may think oh it’s just candle making but the experience is so much more than that. First of all, it’s BYOB so we brought the wine of course and its an open concept so everyone is in the same space. If you saw my Instagram stories during my time in Nashville, I did a step by step video on the process of making the candle and we got to choose everything from the vase to the scent. Definitely a fun time and a must for your girls trip to Nashville or date night.
Uncommon James: This is Kristin Cavallari’s lifestyle brand and if you’re a fan of Laguna Beach or The Hills this is a must when visiting Nashville. Although she wasn’t there, it was so nice seeing her brand she’s built in real life and the beautiful pieces rather than via Instagram. Of course, with the popularity of her new show based in Nashville, Very Cavallari, there are a ton of people in the store and even outside the store snapping photos and fanning out over the space. While in the store, I was excited to learn that she’s launching a children’s brand, Little James which I’m sure based on everything else she’s released will be super cute!
Ax Throwing: I can’t even lie and say this wasn’t nerve-wracking. Before we even made it to the place I was terrified of what this would really be like. Ax throwing isn’t something you see on daily or hear anyone suggest for a fun outing. Throwing an ax and making it actually stay in the wood, you would think you need to be extremely strong and a professional ax thrower. Well, as you see from my photo, I actually made it happen. This was a super fun activity and definitely out of our norm but I would do it again and suggest anyone visiting Nashville to give it a try. They have several locations around the city that offer them and some suggest appointments but we were able to do a walk-in
Nashville has so many good places to grab a bite to eat and my list was so long of places to try. With only 48 hours in the city, we had to narrow it down to what we thought would be the best on the list and fit the girls trip vibes and our options did not disappoint.
Saint Anejo: Our first night in town and we went straight to Saint Añejo. After reading reviews, we knew this was the spot to enjoy margaritas and delicious Mexican cuisine before getting our night started. Saint Añejo is M Street’s premier Mexican restaurant, featuring inspired Mexican cuisine, Latin mixology, and a premium tequila and mezcal menu of over 120 labels. The menu showcases creative tacos, house-made guacamole, and regionally-influenced Chef specialties. Saint Añejo’s cocktail list features craft margaritas and Latin mixology classics, constructed with premium spirits, fresh, exotic produce and botanicals, and unique combinations of nectars and spices.
Milk & Honey Nashville: So we learned after going to a few places that all of the popular and tasty restaurants in Nashville have at least an hour wait. When we arrived at Milk & Honey, the wait was two hours but we had time to waste and decided to do it. The decor in this place is super cute and the food was better. I also ordered a mimosa which was so delicious. Definitely a great brunch spot. They stop their full breakfast menu at 2 pm so if you’re wanting to get a chance to experience everything they have to offer definitely get there before 2 pm.
Amerigo Italian: Dinner on our last night and we wanted it to be something delicious but different. We ultimately decided on Italian and found Amerigo. They have a few locations around Nashville so the wait time wasn’t that bad. The service and food were delicious and a must if you’re in the mood for a nice but casual dinner while in Nashville.
Special thanks so Chevrolet and Stay Alfred for making this trip happen!
