The Super Bowl is THE day that we look forward to during football season. Cheering on our favorite team, spending time with friends and family and enjoying delicious food and drinks. And this year, with it being hosted in Atlanta, we are even more excited to host game day! We love to make sure we have the best of the best to offer our guests, and no game day is complete without Coca-Cola, so I’m already prepping my shopping list with all the “must-haves” for the Big Game.
Did you know that the “Big Game” is the number one live viewing event of the year? It is a celebration occasion that brings together friends, family, and neighbors to watch the game, and the commercials and half time show of course! For most events, I like to invite friends and family with the online invitation system, Paperless Post to keep everything organized on who’s coming and not. With it being in Atlanta this year, the perfect food and drink pairings during the game are a MUST! When hosting, I always try and include something for everyone, especially when it comes to soft drinks. What I love about Coca-Cola is that I’m able to offer Coke original, which is my favorite, and also Coke Zero for my guests who prefer no sugar. Do you know what else is SUPER cool? If you are a Georgia resident, Coke and Publix have teamed up to give ten lucky winners (with one guest each) tickets to attend a “Big Game Viewing Party” hosted by Coca-Cola and NFL legends! To enter this cool sweepstake (or to find out more details), visit your local Atlanta Publix store!
Once I have my drink choices in order, I put together all the bites we’ll have throughout the game, including wings which are my “go-to” appetizer. I love pairing a Coca-Cola with a savory item instead of something sweet. I also suggest you keep the menu simple with foods your guests can grab quickly in-between commercial breaks and timeouts. You could also take extra work off your plate and have each of your guests bring one of their favorite party dishes to share.
Now that I have my food and drink choices sorted out, all that is left is to add a little decor to spice up the place. I love any reason to decorate, so I always try and find a theme for each event. Pinterest is my favorite tool when I need décor ideas and party planning tips and tricks. For football games, I go with football decor to get our guests in the spirit as soon as they walk through the door. I try to keep the decor “team neutral” regardless of who’s playing. If your team is in the Big Game and you want to celebrate with your team’s colors, that is always a fun option! If you have a guest who isn’t a fan of that team, offer them a cold Coca-Cola to cheer them up!
So, if you’re planning to host your own Super Bowl party this year, I hope these tips and tricks are helpful for you to prepare for a fun day of cheering and celebrating. Make sure you head to your local Publix store to stock up on all your Coke products today! After all, Coke is the #1 soft drink in the world so why would you go with anything else?
