Crêped Dress and Over The Knee Boots

Written By: Jasmine Crockett

Happy Monday! I’m starting the week off sharing one of my favorite outfits so far this season. A crêped dress and over the knee boots. When living in the south, you have to be prepared for all weather temps during the winter months because we can legit have a 70-degree day at any time.  Lucky for me, I mainly invest in good quality boots that I can wear season after season because let’s be real, otk boots aren’t going anywhere.

Details: Dress | Boots | Bag

When I initially bought this dress which is now on sale,  I figured it’s cute to wear as a piece for early spring with the floral print. I quickly changed my mind and decided I could pair it with my black over the knee boots to fit the current season. The dress flares out at the bottom which you can see here, but I decided to pull a belt that I already had in my closet and tie it around the waist to make the dress pull in for a more fitted look.  By adding my otk boots, it quickly dressed the outfit up and made it appropriate for the 50-degree weather we’ve been having lately. I’ve had these boots for about two years now, and they are still in excellent condition. I made sure when I was looking for a good otk boot that it was a great brand and of high quality.

If you are searching for otk boots here are a few tips to remember. Always check out the shaft of the boot. When you try on many pairs, you may realize after walking for a bit that it starts to fall with movement, but if you find a good pair with pull ties or a narrow shaft, it’ll most likely stay in place. My boots above have the pull ties that I can tie into a bow, and I can pull them tight enough that I don’t’ have to worry about them falling. Another important thing is the ease of getting the boot on and off. You don’t want to work up a sweat trying to take off a shoe. One bonus tip, if you’re not in a rush, shop for boots at the end of the winter season/beginning of spring. You can find the best boots that were probably entirely out of your budget for more than half off. Remember the boots above that I said I got like two years ago? They were regular price $250, and I purchased them for $65.

There are so many things to look for when purchasing your boots but always remember to get what makes you comfortable. It doesn’t make sense to get something that you can wear maybe once. I’ve found a few similar pair of over the knee boots that I love, and some of them are on sale. Check it out below.
