Happy Wednesday! I swear the days move so quickly I am only able to get through half of my to-do list. Some days I smash it and some days are just not so good. Seriously, I am going to try time blocking on my calendar to see how well that works. So many people swear by it. On days when I know my list is longer than a 6 inch heel and I also have meetings on meetings, I want to be able to still dress in “boss mode” but still be comfortable. I recently started pulling pieces from H&M on occassion and not sure why I haven’t shopped with them in so long because they have the cutest clothing.
The work wear collection items I have probably purchased over ten pieces so far. This outfit, the Wide-cut Plumeti Blouse and the ripped jeans both came from H&M. I’m so picky on my jeans because all jeans aren’t made for all body types and some just aren’t cute, but H&M won me over with this pair. The heels are from ASOS and I usually prefer trying on my shoes in person first but I took a risk with this purchase because the sale was too good.
Anytime you pair heels with jeans, you are already one step closer to taking your outfit from laid back casual to dressy chic. With this dramatic blouse, I actually passed it about 5 times in the store, picked it up, thought about what I could wear it with, put it back, came back and picked it back up and same process the entire time I was in the store. Anyone else do this with things in the store they are torn on whether they should get it or not? I could probably spend two hours or more in a store just doing that, it’s horrible. But, I am so glad I went for it and got the blouse because it dressed up the jeans just like I needed it to and I am able to attend meetings and still get work done comfortably.
Depending on your job, try to pair casual pieces in your closet with a more dressy piece and see what result you get. Long gone are the days of suits for work everyday and H&M has a good selection of comfortable and casual workwear.
