Wonders of Wildlife National Museum & Aquarium: We got the opportunity to tour the aquarium which is one of the largest, most immersive conservation attractions in the world. It is set to open in 2016 and seeing it in person was amazing! This aquarium is not for the weak. We literally only saw half of the aquarium and it felt like we were walking forever. The great thing about this is you don’t feel bored while you’re walking because this museum transforms you through each space you walk into while one minute you’re in the swamps and the next you’re walking through a rain forest. Amazing experience.
Elle’s Patisserie: Elle’s truffles are a little piece of chocolate ecstasy; the acclaimed handmade treats come in as many flavors as one can possibly imagine. We stopped here for a breakfast snack before a full day of fun. The little purple building that this place sits in is so adorable. Of course, a photoshoot had to take place here so i’ll share those pics later.
Fantastic Caverns: Fantastic Caverns is a show cave located in Springfield, Missouri. Fantastic Caverns is the only cave in North America to offer a completely ride-through tour, which lasts 55 minutes and is held in a Jeep-drawn tram. Touring a real cave has never crossed my mind but to see something like this in person was amazing.
The different range of places we had the opportunity to attend in Springfield was pure amazing. I highly recommend you put this city on your to-do list. If you’re flying from Atlanta you literally have only about an hour flight. You can’t beat a one hour weekend getaway. There is still so much to do there and we definitely plan to go back with our family.
