Our Rainbow After the Storm

Our Rainbow After the Storm

On May 24th, the biggest blessing we’ve ever received arrived in our family. Our beautiful baby boy was born into the world. Marcus Keith Crockett Jr. (KJ) It’s so funny to see the picture above because it was taken about three days before I had him and had no clue he’d be coming soon after.

If you’ve followed my blog for the last year or so, you know that we experienced a tough loss last year in early April. I was pregnant with our first child and lost her during my last trimester. It was the toughest thing I have ever had to deal with and definitely a test of strength and faith. Sometimes God does things in your life that can be big or small to open your eyes to other things you may not realize you needed to see. Not only did my own strength grow but I also made it a point to grow stronger in my faith and relationship with God. I could of course found blame in everyone and everything around me but, I chose to stay strong and know that God doesn’t make any mistakes. Of course the thought of trying again right away crossed our minds a ton but we knew that God has his own timing on when he wanted to expand our family. I made it a point to rid the negativity, enjoy each day of life and not stress on when it would be my time to have a baby. Fast forward to a few months later and God blessed us with our rainbow baby. If you’re unfamiliar with the term “rainbow  baby” here you go:

A “rainbow baby” is a baby that is born following a miscarriage, stillbirth, neonatal death or infant loss.In the real world, a beautiful and bright rainbow follows a storm and gives hope of things getting better. The rainbow is more appreciated having just experienced the storm in comparison.

So after our “storm” God blessed us with our rainbow and we are ever so grateful. I’m excited to get back on the blog and share with you all again. If you’ve been checking the site, the past few months have been quiet. I personally decided to take a break from blogging while pregnant and spend that time concentrating on myself and our baby. Sometimes it is definitely worth it to take a break and enjoy what’s important. Thank you all so much who have shared their congratulations thus far and I look forward to sharing my mommy journey with each of you.

P.S We haven’t shared many photos of baby just yet only with family and close friends so please respect our privacy for now while we enjoy our precious bundle of joy and I will be sharing him with you all very soon.
