Tennis, more festivals, fall shopping, football kick offs and more. August is full of super exciting events, football games, and everything that makes August great. Visiting for the weekend or live here and curious how you can get out and enjoy Atlanta more? I’ve put together a list of a few fun things to do for the month of August.

Aug 1 – 7: BB&T Atlanta Open

The Atlanta Open brings world class tennis to Atlanta as the third event in a nine-tournament series leading up to the U.S. Open. Tickets are available in a range of packages including daily, weekend and week-long passes.

August 11 – Eats & Beats

The fifth annual “Eats & Beats” event will take place on August 11 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Buckhead Theatre with 100 percent of proceeds benefiting Children of Conservation and The Giving Kitchen.

Aug 6: Pub Crawl on the BeltLine — Summer Edition

Summer is here and the Atlanta BeltLine is one of the hottest (literally) places to be right now. Gather your friends and “crawl” from Krog Street Market to Piedmont Park, hitting some of the best bars and restaurants in town. The event will be held from 1 5 p.m., during which you can enjoy up to four complimentary beverages along the way, as well as food and drink specials at participating locations. Tickets are based on time of purchase with the super early bird (first 500) being $15, early bird $20, regular $25 and late to the party $30.

Aug 6: Flashback Music Festival

The 21st Annual Flashback Music Festival is set to be held at the Lakewood Amphitheater.  Throwback Thursday the night away with sounds from R&B, funk, and soul.The lineup will include George Clinton, 911 Band, Parliament Funkadelic and many more. General admission lawn seating is $27; reserved pavilion seating tickets are from $17 to $72. Festival starts at 6 p.m.

Aug 5: First Friday with West Elm

West Elm at Ponce City Market will host their first First Friday “Meet The Artists” exhibit on August 5 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Featuring the work of four local Atlanta artists this event celebrates Atlanta’s thriving art community.
